The Confucius Institute at the University of Maryland
The Confucius Institute at the University of Maryland (CIM) was founded on November 17, 2004 and is the first Confucius Institute in North America. From 2004 to 2014, CIM has gone though ten years of history. The Confucius Institute at Maryland (CIM) is proud of its designation as the first Confucius Institute. This year will be a particularly exciting year for the CIM because it will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of its establishment. Since it was established ten years ago, it has steadily grown with the generous support of both Hanban and friends of the University of Maryland.
