22 professors and students from the Canadian College Ahuntsic visited Nankai University. Teachers and students of College of Foreign Languages’ Department of French warmly welcomed the delegation during the four-day visit.
Accompanied by the new Chinese friends, the Canadian guests visited Balitai Campus, and some of the most interesting touristic places of Tianjin, including the Drum Tower, the Ancient Cultural Street, Tianjin Art Museum, and Tianjin Museum. The two sides also carried out a one-day cultural presentation.
In March this year, Chong Yize, Professor at the Department of French, led three undergraduate students (class of 2014) of the Department to visit College Ahuntsic for three weeks. During the visit, the Chinese students actively participated in the courses, organized extracurricular activities, and fully experienced the life of the young local people. Thanks to the tour, the participants had a chance to understand the situation of this French-speaking region in North America better. The two institutions share a long history of academic exchanges and positive relationships: in the last years two Chinese delegations have already visited the Canadian school, and 14 Quebecois students were welcomed at Nankai University’s Department of French.
