More than 40 international students from Nankai University’s College of Chinese Language and Culture have recently visited Tianjin Confucian Temple. The students had a chance to experience the deep bond between China and Confucianism.
The students visited the most beautiful places of the temple: the pond Panchi, the Forest of Stone Steles and the Analects of Confucius, the Lingxing Gate, the Dacheng Gate, the Dacheng Halls, and so on. The participants discovered the unique features of the Tianjin Confucian Temple, listened carefully to the introduction of Confucius, and understood the importance of Confucianism in China.
Thanks to the establishment of the countless Confucius Institutes all around the world and the popularity of Confucius classrooms, all the international students know the name of the great ancient Chinese thinker and educator. Unfortunately, outside China, many students are not familiar with Confucius’ educational thoughts and Chinese traditional culture. This visit provided the student with a precious cultural opportunity.
After the visit, the international students prized the activity because it helped them to understand Confucian principles and Chinese culture better.
Nankai University’s College of Chinese Language and Culture highly emphasizes the cultural experiences and courses of the overseas students. In recent years, the College developed more than ten off-campus practice bases for international students, building a wide platform for them to understand Chinese society and experience Chinese culture.
