From April 13th to 16th, the promotion for the 1st national "Chinese Teaching Contest" Summer Camp was held at Beijing Language and Culture University. Organized by the Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) and the Steering Committee of Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages(MTCSOL), the contest had attracted 132 contestants all around the world. Finally, Xi Feidi, a 2016 Italian master student of MTCSOL of College of Chinese Language and Culture, Nankai University, successfully advanced to the finals.
The contest consisted of two sections including the Simulated Classroom Teaching and Chinese Culture Communication. Contestants presented themselves through self-introduction, teaching design, simulated teaching, cross-cultural case study, talent show, modern China Q & A and Chinese culture communication, etc.
The 132 candidates were selected from 700 Chinese and overseas master students of MTCSOL of 84 universities. Two overseas master students of MTCSOL at Nankai University were promoted to the semi-final among the shortlisted 25 Chinese students and 25 foreign students. The finals will be held in Beijing in June.
