From July 21st to 29th, Chinese delegation led by Nankai University and Tianjin Physics Society, participated in the 49th International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) in Lisbon, Portugal. Finally, the delegation composed of four Nankai teachers and five contestants gained the gold medals with sweepingly high rankings.
Altogether 396 contestants from 87 countries and regions all over the world participated in the IPhO of this year. It turns out that Chinese delegation became the only one that all the contestants gained the gold medals after two rounds of competition.
Chinese delegation is composed of four teachers and five students of Nankai Univeristy’s School of Physics including Feng Song, Tianhao Zhang, Lisa Liu, Wangwei Hui, Tianhua Yang, Shiqi Chen, Zeyang Xue, Xingqiao Li and Zehao Dong. In addition, supervisors of Chinese Association of Science and Technology and Tsinghua University also attended the competition.
