Nankai University Helps Drive “the Belt and Road Initiative” with the Support of the State-Owned Enterprise2018.01.08
“It is my turn. I really wish that I can take my best shot during the interview.” Andrew, a Kazakhstan student of Nankai University said with confidence.
January 5th, Nankai University’s College of Chinese Language and Culture and the Foreign Affairs Department of China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Co., Ltd. co-hosted a special job fair for the international students of the class of 2018. The fair attracted more than 60 international students from over 20 countries such as Kazakhstan, Turkey and Egypt who come from Nankai University, Tianjin University and Tianjin Polytechnic University. The job fair is also Nankai University’s first event for international students this year.
The job fair was oriented to the international students from the countries participating in “the Belt and Road Initiative”, which provided positions on market development, legal contracts, HR & Administration, project management, etc.
“Against the background of China’s proposal of “the Belt and Road Initiative”, Chinese enterprises have actively reached out to the countries and regions participating in the initiative through win-win cooperation. With the development of the social economy, the initiative cannot take effect without the support of international talents, especially the high-end talents from the countries and regions along the route of “the Belt and Road”, said Yinghua Qu, the assistant to the General Manager with the Foreign Affair Department of China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Co., Ltd. and manager with the Human Resource Department.
Lifang Xing, the responsible person of College of Chinese Language and Culture, introduced that the job fair is a platform to connect Chinese enterprises with their targeted foreign students, especially those who come from the countries along the route of “the Belt and Road”. In the report of the 19th National Congress of the CPC, it is clearly pointed out that “China adheres to the fundamental national policy of opening up and pursues development with its doors open wide. China will actively promote international cooperation through the Belt and Road Initiative.” As a college specialized in international students’ cultivation, our college should not only teach them Chinese language and culture, but it should also create more opportunities for them to join China’s economic development and cultural exchanges.
Nankai University’s College of Chinese Language and Culture will develop further cooperation with China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Co., Ltd. The College also plans to establish an “Enterprise Culture Experience Base for International Students”. The international students will be accessible to the development of Chinese enterprises through visits and experience. At the same time, the college can better grasp the status quo of enterprises and their demand for talents through collaborated office.
