Recently, two technological achievements from the research team led by Prof. Weiwei Liu, Modern Optical Institute of College of Electronic Information and Optical Engineering won the 1st and 3rd prize in 2017 Tianjin Intellectual Property Entrepreneurial and Innovative Inventions and Design Competition 2017.
The “portable all-fiber terahertz time-domain spectroscopy system", the R&D achievement by Weiwei Liu, Zijie Dai, Jing Yang, Pengfei Qi, Shuai Li, Qiang Su, was awarded the 1st prize. This system is featured with advantages of a compact structure and convenient portability, which solved the problems of complicated structure, large volume and poor stability of the existing terahertz time-domain spectroscopy system. Now the new system has already been used to different domains to the identification, analysis, security check, nondestructive test of substances like drugs, medicine and new material characterization of terahertz. The research team has published a number of high-quality papers on world-renowned journals and received one national patent based on the system.
The “multi-functional suspended sediment monitoring system with miniaturized probe” was awarded the 3rd prize. This system can be widely applied in the research of the design and maintenance of estuarine and coastal water conservancy projects and laboratory water dynamics. So far, two domestic patents and one PCT patent have been approved based on the system, and one paper has been published.
