On the morning of February 9th, the winter social practice team of Nankai University led by Vice Chancellor and Secretary of Commission for Discipline Inspection Yidan Li had a meeting with the 8 newly enlisted students who were recording two programs for CCTV. Last year, these students joined the PLA while remaining their status at Nankai University. What they did is a vivid portrayal for the university’s educational policy “Knowing China to serve China”.
At first, the 8 newly enlisted students, leaders, other teachers and students reviewed the letter of reply from President Xi Jinping. Then, the students made reports on their experience during the past several months in troops.
The members of the winter social practice team come from four colleges and schools of Nankai University including College of Computer and Control Engineering, School of Literature, Business School and School of Law. Among them, some are the classmates of the new recruiters, some their junior schoolmates, some their class monitors. In addition, students of College of Electronic Information and Optical Engineering and School of Marxism also took active parts in the team. All the team members felt excited about the growth and changes of the 8 new soldiers.
Yidan Li fully appreciated the performance made by the 8 newly enlisted students. He encouraged them to foster ideals for public interests and put it into practice. He expected them to develop their quality, temper their willpower in the army, and dedicate themselves in the pursuit of the Chinese dream and the dream of a strong army to achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
