April 13th, Fordham University’s Provost Stephen Freedman and Assistant Vice President Ellen Fahey Smith visited Nankai University. Nankai University’s Vice President Guanglei Zhu had a meeting with the guests at the Service Building, Balitai campus. Staff of Business School, School of Finance, and Office for International Academic Exchanges attended the meeting.
On behalf of Nankai University, Guanglei Zhu extended his welcome to the delegation of Stephen Freedman, and introduced the overall situation, history, disciplinary construction, and multi-campus development. He said that the strategy of internationalization is an important part of the Nankai University’s “Double First-class” construction. The university has been keeping a close contact with universities in the US. He hoped that both sides could step up the cooperation in teacher and student exchanges, student joint cultivation, and collaborative scientific research.
Stephen Freedman introduced the development of Fordham University. He expected to deepen cooperation with Nankai University, and see more profound and extensive collaborations and exchanges in related fields.
Fordham University is a world-renowned private research university with three campuses in New York City of the United States. In 2017, the university was ranked by the U.S. News & World Report no. 61 in "Best National Universities". At present, Fordham University enrolls approximately 15,600 students, and is composed of ten constituent colleges, four of which are undergraduate and six of which are postgraduate. The advantageous subjects of the university include Finance, Business, Marketing, and International Business, all of which rank top 30 in the US.
