April 14th, the 16th Conference on International Exchanges of Professionals was held at Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. The specially-recruited experts of “Thousand Talents Program” of the Organization Department of the Central Committee and Chair Professor of Nankai University Ghani Razaqpur, and heads of Sino-Canada Joint R&D Center on Water and Environmental Safety was invited to attend the conference. Prof. Ghani Razaqpur was granted “State Specially Recruited Expert” by Organization Department of the Central Committee and Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.
The Conference on International Exchange of Professionals (the "CIEP") was founded by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (the "SAFEA") in 2001 with approval of the State Council. The CIEP is China's only conference oriented towards foreign expert organizations, training institutions and professionals, which is the largest and the highest-level comprehensive international event for exchanging talent and intelligence with the combination of talents, intelligence, technology, projects and management.
As the long-term specially recruited expert of Organization Department of the Central Committee, Ghani Razaqpur is the first specially-recruited experts of “Thousand Talents Program” of Nankai University. Obtained his bachelor, master and doctoral degrees in respectively American University of Beirut, University of Hawaii, and University of Calgary, Prof. Ghani Razaqpur has dedicated himself in eco-material, low-carbon and zero-energy building, and smart and green project. He has won Outstanding Research Award of University of Calgary in 1994, Fellow of Canadian Academy of Engineering (the “CAE”) in 2008, A.B. Sanderson Award of Canadian Society of Civil Engineering (the “CSCE”) and Outstanding Contribution Award of Canadian Standard Association (the “CSA”) in 2012. He received Leipholz Medal of CSCE in 2015.
