Prof. Qilin Zhou Won the 6th Chinese Chemical Society Chemical Contribution Award

Prof. Zhou Donated All His Prize Money to Chinese Chemical Society


May 8th, the 31st Chinese Chemical Society (CCS) Congress was concluded in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. During the opening ceremony, the 6th Chinese Chemical Society Chemical Contribution Award was officially released. Member of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Professor of Nankai University Qilin Zhou won the award. Remarkably, Prof. Zhou donated all the prize money of RMB 20,000 to the CCS for rewarding the outstanding chemical teachers of middle schools nationwide.

Prof. Qilin Zhou has developed a brand-new set of chiral ligands and catalyst, which has greatly enhanced the efficiency and selectivity of chiral synthesis and made outstanding contribution to synthetic chemistry.

Another winners of the award include CAS member Lei Jiang, CAE member Xiaotang Yuan and CAS member Dongyuan Zhao. President of CCS Jiannian Yao and Director of R &D Department of China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec Corp) and CAS member Zaiku Xie co-awarded the four winners.
